With over 10,000 French-language media items, the Institut Français Mainz media library is one of the most important hubs for French-language literature, films, and music in the Rhine-Main region.

Located in the picturesque Palais Schönborn right on Schillerplatz, the library offers a wide selection for those interested in French culture and language:

• literary works (classic and contemporary novels, plays, and essays) as well as non-fiction books on philosophy or art
• a section for French learners
• audiobooks
• comics for children and adults
• an extensive selection of children’s books
• various French magazines and German-French periodicals
• more than 500 DVDs featuring French films (comedies, dramas, animated films for children, and more…)

The library card costs just €25 per year (reduced rate €18) and also gives you access to Culturethèque, an extensive digital library with e-books, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, comics, videos, music recordings, and much more.
