Library Day 2026
The Anna Seghers Public Library cordially invites you to join us in celebrating Library Day on October 24.
A variety of events at the Central Library and the Weisenau Branch Library will celebrate the importance of libraries and literature on this day. For young visitors, there will be an open Kamishibai storytelling session at the Public Library’s main branch—Anna Seghers—from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. No registration is required, so all interested families are welcome to drop by the storytelling session on the spur of the moment.
For all older visitors to the Central Library, October’s theme—in honor of the German Book Prize—offers an exciting selection of literature to browse through and find inspiration in.
Anyone interested in attending a meeting of the Silent Book Club RLP will have the opportunity to do so on October 24 at the Weisenau Neighborhood Library. From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the book club will meet to read in the library’s quiet and relaxed atmosphere.
Library Day aims to raise awareness of the importance and role of libraries in our society while also promoting the joy of reading. Books can entertain us, educate us, and transport us to new worlds. They can bring people together and foster mutual exchange.
