About the exhibition

As part of our thematic area "Books and Printing before Gutenberg," we present this display as the newest element of the permanent exhibition. On display are initials from a 15th-century Mainz painting workshop, which were cut out of a Bible manuscript. The search for clues to the "plundered" volume is documented in the cabinet exhibition.

The exhibition booklet is available at the museum ticket office for €1.
