Kaiserbrücke: Four-Week Closure to Pedestrians and Bicyclists Starting August 25
Starting next Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the Kaiser Bridge (North Bridge) will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists for an estimated four weeks.
Since damage to the pavement was discovered during the last routine inspection, repairs to the pavement in certain areas are planned to ensure traffic safety and usability. Depending on the progress of construction, adjustments to the construction schedule may be necessary.
Extensive detours will be set up for pedestrians and cyclists and will be appropriately signposted. Signs already in place at the surrounding Rhine bridges—the Schiersteiner Bridge and the Theodor-Heuss Bridge—notify the public of the closure and the corresponding detours.
The work and the closure are not related to the ongoing project to make the Kaiser Bridge accessible to people with disabilities. The closure is necessary due to structural conditions as part of maintenance work.
