The state capital of Mainz has launched a new webpage titled (opens in a new tab) “Support Services for People Without a Permanent Residence in Mainz.” For the first time, it brings together the wide range of support services for people without housing and those experiencing homelessness in one place, making it easier for those affected, their families, professionals, and volunteers to access important information.

The new page offers a structured overview of contact points and support services—ranging from overnight shelter to counseling and healthcare services to assistance in life-threatening emergencies. The goal is to provide guidance and make access to tailored help as easy as possible.

“Behind every person without a permanent residence lies a personal story. No one should be unable to find the right help because they are facing a difficult life situation. With this new website, we are creating a central, easily accessible guide that provides direction and quickly connects people with the appropriate support services,” emphasizes Jana Schmöller, Head of Social Services.

The site is aimed not only at people without a fixed residence, but also at their relatives, supporters, and professionals from social service agencies. By consolidating the available services in one place, the search for appropriate assistance is made significantly easier, and collaboration among the various stakeholders in the support system is enhanced.

With this new online resource, the state capital of Mainz is taking another step toward improving access to information and social assistance and is increasing the visibility of the city’s existing support structures.
