September's Theme: "A Land Down Under"—Australia in Literature
This September, the Anna Seghers Public Library is all about the red continent: Australia
Australia holds a very special fascination for many people. Bordered by the Indian Ocean to the southwest and the Pacific Ocean to the north and east, the continent captivates visitors with its impressive coastline, stretching over 25,000 kilometers, and attracts numerous vacationers and travelers every year.
Above all, its unique diversity makes Australia a special travel destination. Visitors can look forward not only to breathtaking sandy beaches but also to fascinating landscapes featuring tropical forests and vast desert regions. Culturally and historically, the land “down under” also has much to offer.
Visitors to the Anna Seghers Public Library can therefore not only learn about Australia’s most beautiful travel destinations and sights in September, but also discover more about the country’s history and its indigenous people, the Aboriginal Australians.
With a wide selection of literature about the Red Continent—ranging from exciting travelogues to gripping novels set in Australia to nonfiction books—there’s something for every taste.
The Anna Seghers Public Library looks forward to an exciting reading journey.
