ARQUE e.V. - Working group for paraplegics with spina bifida

Purpose of the association

We are a self-help association run by and for people with spina bifida and their families.

Spina bifida, often referred to as "open spine," is a congenital paraplegia that leads to varying degrees of impairment depending on the level and extent of the paralysis.

As a self-help group, we support all children, adolescents, and adults with spina bifida on their way to a self-determined life. We help them and their families cope with the challenges posed by the disability. With regular seminars and independence training, individual counseling, and extensive information material, we support you in all phases of life. Upon request, support can begin as early as during pregnancy.

Those who work professionally with people with spina bifida are also welcome to contact us. For the "professionals" group, our portal spinawissen.de is also available with up-to-date information and professional training courses.

Simply contact us, ask your questions, and get to know us in a conversation. We look forward to hearing from you!
