The work of Bildungsforum Mainz e.V. focuses on providing support and guidance to children and adolescents with immigrant backgrounds, both in school and in their personal lives, with the goal of “taking them by the hand” and thus helping them achieve a better education and easier social integration into German society.

Regular meetings are held with the young people and their parents. During these meetings, the counselors (university-educated women with their own immigrant backgrounds) strive to serve as mediators between generations—and between cultures.
