The Association for the Promotion of Continuing Medical Education in Rhineland-Palatinate supports continuing medical education and thus contributes to quality assurance in medicine. The association has set itself the task of

• organizing scientific events such as lectures, seminars, circles, and courses in a motivating, practical, and communicative manner
• to develop recommendations for the required scope of continuing education
• to establish standards for continuing education based on the findings of medical associations
• developing recommendations for the medical content and necessary scope of continuing education, taking health policy goals into account and, unless otherwise regulated by professional law, participating in the accreditation
• To participate in the certification and quality assurance of continuing education and training institutions and measures
• Contribute to motivating physicians to pursue their own continuing education
• Promoting the use of modern, didactic technologies
