Frauenzentrum Mainz e.V -Feminist Center for Counseling, Communication, Education and Culture-

Purpose of the association

For almost 50 years, the Women's Center has been a counseling, education, and cultural center for women.

It is a place for all women of different origins and generations, with and without transidentity, women of color, women in different physical and mental conditions, with and without disabilities, women regardless of their sexual orientation, religion, education, illness, or addiction issues.

What we do

  • We inform and empower women through counseling, education, and cultural offerings (e.g., events, lectures, psychosocial counseling, legal advice).
  • Provide spaces for women, lesbians, projects, open meetings, and groups (e.g., queer-feminist mothers' group, lesbians over 50, international women's café)
  • Public relations and networking
  • Show women different possibilities for identity

Feminism, autonomy, grassroots democracy, partiality for women, and helping women to help themselves are the principles underlying all of the association's work. The women's
center is run by a volunteer board and two full-time employees.
