Victim and offender support e.V.
Purpose of the association
Opfer- und TäterHILFE e. V. is a non-profit association that provides assistance to offenders. With its supraregional, justice-related services, it is an integral part of the social and judicial policy landscape in the Mainz region. Special justice-related services have been developed that provide assistance to victims on the one hand and are regarded as rehabilitation measures for offenders on the other. The aim is to provide both victims and offenders with individually tailored assistance in dealing with and overcoming their respective problems or crisis situations.
To this end, eight special departments have been developed over time in the form of counseling centers and projects. The departments include residential groups for released prisoners, placement in community service, victim-offender mediation, the "Contra Häuslicher Gewalt" (Against Domestic Violence) work facility for offenders, anti-aggression training, a counseling center for relatives of prisoners, and a specialist center for family group conferences. The association works on a supraregional basis and offers its services in the district court districts of Mainz and Bad Kreuznach.
