Schachfreunde Mainz 1928 e.V.

Purpose of the association

With approximately 140 members, our chess club is one of the largest in Rhineland-Palatinate. Players on eight adult teams—including two women’s teams—compete in various age groups and tournaments organized by our associations, ranging from the district league to the 1st Rhineland-Palatinate League, as well as in cup competitions in Rheinhessen and Rhineland-Palatinate. In the youth division, we are also represented by 2–3 teams, depending on the age group.

Our game night takes place every Friday starting at 8:00 p.m. On Saturdays from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. and from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., we offer varied and professional youth training sessions.

Our facilities are located at the Theodor-Heuss Elementary School in Mainz-Hechtsheim, Ringstr. 41B, 55129 Mainz. Directions can be found on the club’s website.

We have a place for players of all ages and skill levels. Guests are warmly welcome to join us on game nights and at youth training sessions.
