The purpose of the association is to promote civil protection. The promotion of other purposes related to civil protection includes, among other things

• promoting measures taken by the Mainz branch of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), in particular to rescue people from life-threatening situations and to protect people, animals, and property in dangerous situations
• promoting youth welfare and youth work within the THW
• implementation of social, humanitarian, and charitable measures
• Financing projects that serve the purposes a) to c)
• Procurement of equipment/supplies for purposes a) to c)
