Food for Helpers Mainz e.V.

Purpose of the association

We want to help!

Normally, we take many things for granted. In times like the current coronavirus crisis, we realize that not everything can be taken for granted. The value of many professions often only becomes apparent in times of need.

Whether it's cashiers at the supermarket, bus drivers, garbage collectors, firefighters, or even the police, but especially the medical staff in hospitals and doctors' offices, they all help to keep our lives going, keep things running smoothly under the circumstances, and ensure that we are cared for as much as possible. They don't know what working from home is like.

The list of systemically important professions is endless, but they often go unnoticed. We want to change that.

That's why we want to thank these employees with a free lunch and are delivering to, among others, Mainz University Medical Center, the MKM, nursing homes, fire stations and police stations, doctors' offices, pharmacies, and supermarkets. We are doing our best, but we will not be able to reach everyone. We ask for your understanding. We

also want to support Mainz's restaurateurs. They are also being hit very hard during this time. Restaurants are closed, sales have plummeted, and costs continue to run. Many employees have had to go on short-time work. Their families are also affected. They will support us in cooking meals for all the people who are there for us. This gives them the opportunity to generate sales to improve the situation a little. We want to help keep the economic cycle going as far as possible.
