The purpose of the association is

• to preserve an important nature experience opportunity in the urban area for neighboring residents, families, school classes, and kindergartens
• to preserve a traditional local recreation area for residents with limited mobility, e.g., patients from nearby clinics, senior citizens, families with children, and residents of the adjacent retirement home
• to preserve all green spaces within the "Römersteine" Mainz monument zone
• Promoting awareness of the entire area of the "living monument Römersteine" in connection with its significance in the city's history and its appearance, which has remained virtually unchanged for centuries, in conjunction with the surrounding green spaces.
