Laubenheim Volunteer Fire Brigade
Founded in 1874, the fire department currently has approximately 39 active members in its operations department. As one of three fire departments in Mainz that, due to their location, cannot be reached by the professional fire department within the statutory eight-minute response time, they are on call 24/7.
Due to its proximity to the Natorampe, which provides access to the Rhine, it is also responsible for emergencies on the Rhine.
Since 1995, the Laubenheim Volunteer Fire Department has had a field kitchen from former NVA stocks. The field kitchen team is thus another department of the fire department.
Members who have reached the age limit for active service or who have had to leave active service after at least 25 years of service for health or professional reasons are organized in the senior department.
The Laubenheim Youth Fire Department was founded in 1975, making it the first youth fire department in Mainz.

Support association
The Mainz Laubenheim Volunteer Fire Department is supported in many ways by the "Freiwillige Feuerwehr Laubenheim e.V." support association. The close ties between the fire department and the association enable targeted support in many areas of everyday firefighting:
- Training of enthusiastic young recruits
- Promotion of cooperation with neighboring fire departments
- Provision of the association's own equipment, etc. to better equip the fire department
- Support for firefighters and their families who find themselves in need through no fault of their own
- Maintaining and strengthening the unity of the fire department
