The pretzels that give this neighborhood its name are sure to whet your appetite. Bretzenheim is one of the oldest villages in Rheinhessen, and in the town center, alongside the striking coat of arms, you’ll find many idyllic spots, such as the Gänsmarkt and the town hall. There’s plenty of activity here and in the neighboring streets when the popular pretzel festival is celebrated.

One figure seems to have a good overview: standing in a green space, she greets guests and points to the Catholic church, which is perched on a hill just behind her.

If you walk a little way downhill along Mühlweg, you will come to a small oasis, the Lindenmühle nature show garden. If you take a closer look, you can discover a number of animal and plant species here, whether in the flower beds, around the water features, or at the wild bee hotel.
