We’ve addressed and directly answered the most common questions from the citizens’ forum and the public participation phase. The public comment period for the Municipal Heating Plan has ended.

From March 2 through April 1, 2026, you had the opportunity to submit comments and feedback on the draft Municipal Heating Plan. Thank you very much for your feedback!

December 2024 through March 2026

Development of the Mainz Heating Plan with the support of a commissioned consortium of experts; formation of a project group comprising representatives from various municipal departments, as well as representatives from Stadtwerke, Wohnbau Mainz, and Wirtschaftsbetrieb Mainz.

On March 11, 2026, the second public forum on municipal heating planning (KWP) took place at the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz. Around 200 citizens took the opportunity to review the completed draft of the Mainz Heating Plan, ask questions of experts from the trades and energy consulting sectors, and contribute to the participatory process.
