3. for what purpose and on what legal basis do we process your personal data?
With the reform of guardianship law, which came into force on January 1, 2023, voluntary guardianship takes precedence over other forms of guardianship. People should be encouraged to become voluntary guardians and, if equally suitable, should be given preference over other forms of guardianship. The youth welfare office has an obligation to assist in the selection of guardians and to assess their suitability. It also has a duty to promote, advise, and support voluntary individual guardianships.
This obligation arises from Section 1774, Paragraph 1, No. 1 of the German Civil Code (BGB) in conjunction with Section 1779, Paragraph 2 BGB and Section 53 SGB VIII.

All data will be passed on to the aforementioned authorities solely for the purpose of conducting voluntary guardianship.

Your data will be stored until the end of your guardianship in accordance with Section 63, Paragraph 1 of SGB VIII.
