From supplement to successor
The cemetery in Weisenau
Created in the 1960s, the Weisenau Cemetery was originally planned 'only' as an additional burial site. However, with the beginning of changes in funeral culture, it became clear that the district would not need two cemeteries in the long term. The supplement became the successor (see also 'Miscellaneous'). The cemetery itself is also indicative of this development. Several columbariums have recently been built on the site. This is a direct consequence of changing burial preferences.
