Scattering of Ashes in a Natural Setting
Anyone looking for a simple and nature-oriented form of burial in a cemetery will find a special option in Mombach: In the peaceful quiet of the Waldfriedhof, burials without an urn are possible.
For this type of burial, there is a scattering meadow measuring approximately 100 square meters, where virtually every deceased person is given their own designated area in which their ashes are scattered beneath the grass.
Alternatively, the ashes can be scattered along a small path known as the “Forest Scattering Path.”
Adjacent to each area are memorial steles bearing the names of those interred, as well as designated spots for grave decorations. No maintenance is required.
