Nothing is for eternity ...
Three months after the statutory resting period or the right of use has expired, the cemetery operator may remove a grave. This is stated in the cemetery statutes. However, it also states that the owner of the municipal cemeteries must inform the beneficiaries beforehand.
This applies both personally (as information at the grave or in writing) and by public announcement. At the beginning of the year, all row graves that may be cleared in the following months are listed in the Amtsblatt (opens in a new tab). The same applies to graves whose right of use expired in the previous year.
IMPORTANT: For graves whose resting period/right of use has already expired before publication in the Amtsblatt, the date of publication counts as the starting date of the three-month period. For all others, the actual expiry date applies.
