About the Gutenberg Library

The Gutenberg Library is one of Germany's most comprehensive special libraries on the history of books, printing, and writing. It covers the entire field of book science and book design, printing and typography, as well as artistic and graphic printing techniques. The library comprises over 100,500 titles from seven centuries and forms the heart of the Gutenberg Museum's exhibition activities. At the same time, it is available free of charge to all interested users as a reference and research library.

The extensive historical holdings can be searched worldwide in the online catalog (opens in a new tab).
