Focus of the issue "Early photography in the Rhine-Main region"
The new issue of the Mainz magazine is dedicated to the main topic of "Early Photography in the Rhine-Main Area." The articles shed light on the pioneering days of photography from the second half of the 19th century in Mainz and overseas, based on the biographies of three little-known photographers: August Brauneck, Peter Metz, and Konrad Schollmayer.
In addition to articles on the main topic of "Early Photography," the new volume of the Mainz journal contains a variety of other contributions on history, art history, and book studies with regional and supraregional perspectives.
