With the official and free Mainz app, you can experience the highlights of the city—both on site and at home—and always be up to date.

mainzplus CITYMARKETING and its partners, the state capital of Mainz and Tourismusfonds Mainz e.V., offer "MAINZ," the first official Mainz app. In addition to classic service content (public transport/timetable information search, navigation, and overview of restaurants, shopping, culture, sights, parking garages, hotels, and much more), the app also offers virtual and augmented reality features. This provides a completely new city app experience.

What scientific research and explanations lie behind historical buildings or Johannes Gutenberg's invention?
Videos, photo galleries, and puzzles allow you to rediscover the state capital of Mainz—via a free app. The multimedia city tour was created by young people. Scientists at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz shed light on Mainz tourist attractions such as Mainz Cathedral, the Kaufhaus am Brand department store, the St. Christoph memorial, and the media revolutionary Gutenberg.
Initiators
The project was led by the Media Intelligence Initiative at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the Media Competence Network Mainz-Rheinhessen. They received support in implementing the project from the state capital Mainz and the Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper.

"mainz&more" provides city information for when you're on the go. The "See&Experience" section gives you an overview of Mainz's sights. It also contains all kinds of information and addresses for shopping in Mainz – and for refreshments in the cafés and restaurants afterwards!
