Comment guidelines for the social media channels of the state capital Mainz

Fair and respectful interaction with one another is particularly important to us—because only constructive dialogue helps everyone. Here are a few tips for virtual exchange:
We take you and your concerns seriously and expect you to treat third parties with respect. Even if you disagree with someone, we ask you to remain objective and respectful.
Each user is responsible for their own contributions. We will hide or delete contributions if they violate one or more of the following points:
- Personal attacks, insults, and degrading comments of any kind directed at any person, including employees of the state capital of Mainz
- Repeated use of strong language and provocative comments
- Calls for violence and threats against individuals, institutions, or companies
- Hate speech and racism: including sweeping, stigmatizing, extremist statements
- Pornography and obscenities
- Calls for donations and advertising
- Misuse of the comment function as advertising space for websites or services
- Foreign-language posts that cannot be reviewed by the editorial team
- Identical posts that are posted multiple times (spam)
- Violations of third-party rights (including copyright and personal rights, image rights)
- Calls for demonstrations and rallies of any kind (The right to freedom of assembly remains unaffected, of course. This site is simply not the right place for calls of this kind.
- Publication of third-party personal data
- Links to websites that contain one or more of the points listed
The state capital of Mainz is committed to neutrality. Therefore, political statements and advertising for political parties and groups are not permitted on the social media channels of the state capital of Mainz.
In particularly serious or repeated cases, we will block the responsible user. Statements that are relevant under criminal law will be reported to the authorities.
Your contribution
Social media channels are an additional platform for information provided by the state capital of Mainz. Please do not disclose any personal information about yourself, as this is not intended for public consumption.
