Urban development - spatially relevant development processes

Urban development is a holistic municipal task that encompasses all spatially relevant developments and processes in a city. For example, population, housing, economy, labor market, inner city and district development, mobility and regional cooperation.

The Office for Urban Research and Sustainable Urban Development conducts the necessary basic research, analyses, forecasts, and concepts for the urban area or sub-areas. Projects to improve quality of life and health, promote sustainability, and address future challenges in urban development planning are also implemented.

One goal is to develop the city in a future-proof manner so that economic, ecological, and social concerns can be harmonized and the city's attractiveness can be further enhanced.

The specific topics are usually based on the requirements of the administration and municipal political bodies.
