First aid in cases of violence against women and children in Mainz
Violence can affect any woman, regardless of her age or background. In the vast majority of cases, she knows the perpetrator. This is because the perpetrator is usually her (former) partner, a family member, or another (close) acquaintance. This makes it particularly difficult to defend herself. The same applies to children. In Mainz, there are a number of specialist centers that support women and children in finding ways out of violence.
Protective accommodation and measures in dangerous situations
Counseling centers for women and girls
Immediate medical assistance after rape
Nationwide help hotline for violence against women
Counseling for women, men and children with (experience of) violence

More than 80 counselors are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, free of charge and confidentially, by calling 116 016 or via the accessible website www.hilfetelefon.de.
