Equal Pay Day
Hardly any other demand of the women's movement is as old as the demand for equal pay for equal work - and hardly any other demand has been met so little in Germany. A look into your own wallet - and Equal Pay Day - is a reminder of this.
On this day, women in Germany statistically earned the money that men already had in their pockets on December 31 of the previous year. This year, that date is February 26. So, even in 2026, hardly anything has changed!
The gender pay gap in Germany has been 16 percent since 2024.
