Training to become an administrative assistant is conducted under the dual system, lasts a total of three years, and consists of:
- Practical work in various departments of the Mainz city administration
- Theoretical instruction at the Vocational School for Economics and Administration (BBS III (opens in a new tab)) in Mainz
- And part-time classes at the Municipal Study Institute Mainz (KSI (opens in a new tab))

Recruitment requirements
- Good secondary school diploma or technical college entrance qualification/high school diploma, each with at least satisfactory grades
- German language skills at level C1 with at least satisfactory grades
Start and duration of training
August 1, 2027, for a term of 3 years
Remuneration
1st year of training: €1,368.26/month
2nd year of training: €1,418.20/month
3rd year of training: €1,464.02/month
