Susanna Storch has been working as a freelance painter in Mainz since 1998. Her focus is on figurative realism, and she works on a variety of themes: portraits (including commissioned works), images of people, ballet, landscapes, anti-war images, and facades. Since 2001, her paintings have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions and at various art fairs, and some are in public ownership, e.g., at the Museum am Dom in Würzburg.

In her current series FASSADEN (Facades), the focus is on depicting everyday scenes observed at random in an urban context. Window scenes captured photographically in passing, so to speak, and then translated into paintings offer a fleeting glimpse into the lives of anonymous residents, on the border between private and public space. She found the motifs for the paintings in various cities in Europe and Latin America, e.g., in Paris, Santiago de Chile, London, Berlin, Lisbon, Valparaiso, Medellín, Gibraltar, Tallinn, Frankfurt, and Mainz, her hometown.
