The Mainz Freischützen-Garde is one of Mainz's traditional guards, whose main activity is focused on street carnival. Various events such as the Grand Guard Meeting, Children's Masked Ball, Ladies' Meeting, and the start of the carnival season during the campaign complement the carnival festivities until Rose Monday.
