The orchestra is dedicated to promoting classical music. The ensemble has been in existence for over 20 years and meets on Wednesday evenings at 5:45 p.m. in the parish hall of the Protestant Church in Mainz-Finthen for rehearsals. Led by a

professional conductor, the 20 or so amateur members mainly play works from the Baroque, Viennese Classical, and Romantic periods.
