The Mainz-based gospel jazz ensemble PRISMA vokal, with its 30 singers, was founded in 1993 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2013. Visually, its most striking features are its spectral-colored gloves and sophisticated choreography.

In recent years, PRISMA vokal has developed a profile that is unique in the Rhine-Main choir scene and cannot be clearly described with the terms gospel choir or jazz choir. Nevertheless, its repertoire includes swing, Latin, soul, pop, rock, contemporary gospel, and musical songs. This unusual spectrum makes the choir versatile and its performances very varied.

Since the beginning of 2017, PRISMA vokal has been led by Lena Perrey as a gospel jazz vocal ensemble, for which a cappella performances are just as natural as piano accompaniment to polyphonic choral arrangements or even the "full program" with jazz combo at concerts, always complemented by soloists from the choir.
