Dogs must be kept on a leash in the following places:

• in public areas
• in pedestrian zones
• in certain nature reserves and protected landscapes

• According to § 28 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO), domestic and farm animals are only permitted on public roads if they are accompanied by suitable persons who are able to control them adequately.

required when reporting an unleashed dog:

• Exact time of the incident
• Location
• Brief description of the violation
• Description of the person and details of the dog breed
