Mainz wine market in the city park
The Mainz Wine Market will take place in Stadtpark from August 27 to 30, 2026, and from September 3 to 6, 2026. The official opening of the Mainz Wine Market will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
In late August and early September, the City Park becomes the place to be for wine lovers. During this time, the spacious park with its rose garden provides the romantic backdrop for Mainz’s largest wine festival.
At the wine market, you can sample wines primarily from Mainz and Rheinhessen, but also from the Rheingau and the Nahe region.
At the sparkling wine festival in the rose garden, on the long benches scattered throughout the grounds, or while sitting on the large lawns, you can taste to your heart’s content, chat, and celebrate.
If you’re in the mood for arts and crafts, you’ll be in good hands at the artists’ market in the rose garden.

Take bus lines 62 or 92 to the “Rosengarten” stop, various lines to “An der Favorite” and “Stadtpark,” or take the train, S-Bahn, or bus to “Römisches Theater.”
