Fruit trees

The smallest suburb of Mainz, Drais, is characterized by fruit and vegetable cultivation. Cherries, apples, pears, asparagus, strawberries, and even peaches grow in the fields and orchards around the town. A walk through the so-called "Draiser Senke" between the suburbs of Drais and Lerchenberg is particularly recommended in summer.
The wide fields and old fruit trees also invite you to cycle or linger on park benches – because visitors can enjoy a wide and beautiful view over Mainz from here.
