Annual course and training
The Mainz Adult Education Center's Mainz Art Workshop offers professional, practice-oriented, and part-time training in fine arts. The annual courses take place in morning or evening classes, as well as a few additional weekend workshops, so that working people can also participate. The Mainz Art Workshop teaches the technical, art theory, and art history fundamentals of fine arts. The focus is on extensive practical exercises. Individual, professional guidance and learning in a group of no more than 12 participants promote the development and refinement of a personal artistic approach. The participants' artistic results are presented in an exhibition at the end of the year.
The art workshop is structured in annual courses, each running from January to December of a given year. An annual course consists of several thematically structured course modules that build on each other. Each annual course has a different thematic focus and is self-contained, so that it is possible to attend individual annual courses. Optionally, after regular participation in at least four annual courses, an exam can be taken and a certificate of completion can be obtained. The Mainz Art Workshop thus has a study-like character.
