Since 2011, the main venue of the Theater Junge Bühne Mainz has been the M8 stage in the Haus der Jugend Mainz, where the ensemble has access to a very versatile, large stage hall with many technical possibilities.

Junge Bühne Mainz participates annually in the Mainz Children's Theater Festival with its own productions and organizes the theater festival "PopUp – Theater Days for Young Actors" once a year. For both festival formats, Junge Bühne Mainz also regularly invites noteworthy guest performances to Mainz.

Each season's annual program usually features five to eight different productions. A clear focus of the repertoire is on contemporary interpretations of classic works such as Spring Awakening, Woyzeck, Macbeth, The Robbers, Reigen, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and The Little Prince.

As a theater that is conceptually committed to programming for young audiences, Junge Bühne Mainz provides age recommendations for each production and highlights key themes and topics within the individual productions. Schools and educational institutions from across the Rhine-Main region now regularly attend performances at Junge Bühne Mainz.

In addition to the program at its main venue, Junge Bühne Mainz also performs at other venues in the region and at external festivals such as the interactive exhibition MiMa Ingelheim, the art biennial 3xklingeln in Mainz, and the EuroFolkFestival Ingelheim. In the past, it has also performed at the unterhaus Mainz and the KUZ Mainz.

Junge Bühne Mainz is a signatory to the Rhineland-Palatinate Declaration of "Die Vielen" and a full member of the International Association of Theatres for Young Audiences ASSITEJ.
