Child day care in Mainz

General information for parents and other interested parties

In addition to nurseries, kindergartens, and after-school care centers, childcare provided by childminders (daycare providers) has been a tried and tested form of childcare for many years.

Child day care is a legally recognized alternative form of care in a family-like environment and is generally suitable for all children aged 0 to 14. It is considered equivalent to care in a day care center.

Care times can be arranged flexibly between parents and childminders according to their needs. Additional care hours can also be agreed upon, e.g., outside the opening hours of nurseries, kindergartens, and after-school care centers. There are currently

more than 100 childminders in the Mainz area who look after around 300 children.
