Parents can find the safest route for new schoolchildren in the City of Mainz's geographic information system. The city map shows the elementary school districts with their corresponding schools, the recommended routes to school, crosswalks, and traffic lights. In addition, a route to school map is available for download for each elementary school.

To show or hide a topic, proceed as follows: Select the desired topic in the "Topic selection" menu of the geographic information system under the heading "Youth, Social Affairs," activate the info button in the function bar above the map, and click on the school symbol of the desired school on the map. A new window will open with the corresponding detailed information.
