General information on the city council
The city council consists of the mayor, five deputy mayors, and two honorary deputy mayors. The members of the city council usually meet once a week. The meetings are not open to the public. The mayor chairs the meetings.
Tasks
The mayor requires the approval of the city council when setting the agenda for city council meetings and when making urgent decisions. In addition, the mayor prepares the city council's resolutions in consultation with the city council. The mayor's discussions with the deputy mayors (administrative meetings) on fundamental or cross-departmental issues take place within the framework of the city council meetings.
