The Professional Association of Visual Artists represents the professional and economic interests of visual artists, including young artists, in Rhineland-Palatinate vis-à-vis politics, administration, the public, and business.

Within the framework of these objectives and purposes, the BBK works, among other things, towards the full professional recognition of its members' activities as freelance artists and is also committed to regulating the social interests of its members. It promotes freedom of artistic creation. The purpose of the BBK is not geared towards running a commercial business.
