Our association aims to cultivate and preserve the traditional customs of the local carnival in terms of its cultural significance for Mainz. We seek to achieve this goal by participating in carnival parades and holding carnival meetings.

In particular, our guard aims to enrich the image of Mainz street carnival with its elaborate hussar uniforms and promote the preservation of carnival traditions with its exemplary appearance. In line with our cross-generational goal, we want to give young people in particular a connection to Mainz carnival by exemplifying carnival customs. Thus, the Black Hussars place themselves in the service of Gott Jokus and join the tradition of Mainz city guards.
