What do I need to know?
Service description
You can extend your driver's license to include the independent driver's license class T.
With a Class T driver's license, colloquially known as a "large tractor license," you are permitted to drive the following vehicles with trailers:
- tractors intended and used for agricultural or forestry purposes with a maximum design speed of 60 km/h (from 16 to 18 years of age: 40 km/h)
- self-propelled machinery and feed mixers intended and used for these purposes with a maximum design speed of 40 km/h
The T driving license is issued for an indefinite period.
The T driving license category is a national category. It is only valid to a limited extent in other countries.
Since April 1, 2021, the driver's license authority can also issue a Class B driver's license with the key number 197. You complete your driver's education and driving test in a vehicle with an automatic transmission and receive the qualification to drive vehicles with a manual transmission.
Please note that the decision (class B or B197) must be made when registering at the driving school and when applying to the driver's license authority.
