Bike parking

The city relies on safe, convenient and conveniently located bicycle parking facilities. As a rule, large metal brackets are installed in public spaces for safe parking. In addition to all the information on bicycle parking, you will also find tips on how to deal with scrap bikes here.

Scrap bikes belong on the scrap heap!

A scrap bicycle is a bicycle that is severely damaged or no longer functional and cannot be repaired. Typical signs include broken wheels, a broken chain, faulty brakes, or a damaged frame. The Traffic Monitoring Office is responsible for such scrap bikes. Bikes that are merely abandoned, ownerless, or parked in a way that causes obstruction do not fall under this jurisdiction. The reason: Removing bikes that are still usable would cause legal problems. These include, for example, property violations, claims for damages, or complaints from the owners.

If your bike is no longer in working order, please make things easier for yourself, other cyclists, and us by not simply leaving your bike in the bike rack. If you wish to report a scrap bike, the Traffic Monitoring Office accepts reports by phone at +49 6131 12-2181. Thank you very much!
