Himalayan cedar
As the name suggests, this cedar is native to the Himalayas. It can thrive there at altitudes of up to 1,200 m without any major problems. In our latitudes, it has established itself primarily as a magnificent ornamental tree, often planted as a solitary specimen in large gardens and landscape parks.

- Growth height: up to 20 meters (up to 50 meters in its region of origin)
- Needles: soft; blue-green; 3–5 cm long
- Flowers: male flowers cylindrical, 5–8 cm long; female flowers up to 3 cm long; pollination in autumn; fertilization, however, only in the following spring
- Fruit: upright, oval cones; 8–12 cm long; initially bluish, later reddish-brown;
2 years to maturity - Soil/location: well-drained, sufficiently moist soil
