How to use the website

On this page, we explain:

How to use the website www.mainz.de.

However:

Most of the information on the website is not in easy language.

This is what the mainz.de homepage looks like

Our logo is at the top left of the page:

The logo appears on every page.

You can click on the logo on any page.

This will take you back to the home page.

At the top center of the home page, it says:

How can we help?

So you can search for the offers:

There are three fields at the top.

The left field says:

I would like to ...

Click on the field.

You will then see:
These citizen services are available on the website.

For example: 

Perhaps you need a housing eligibility certificate?

Then click on: 

Apply for a housing eligibility certificate

You will now be taken to the page with the relevant information.

The field in the middle says:

I am …

Click on the field.

You will then see further offers.

 

The field on the right says:

Click on the field.

Then you will see:

These offers are available in your part of town.

There is a bar at the top of the start page.

The bar contains the following words:

  • Use service
  • Find out the latest news
  • Discover offers
  • See the future

    and below that

  • Work for Mainz
  • Have your say in Mainz
  • Mobile in Mainz
  • Visiting Mainz

You can click on the words.

This will take you to the page with the information.

There are even more functions here.

Here you will find the language selection.

You will find the search function.


Search info

You can use the search function to look up words.

This is what the search looks like:

Type the word into the search field.

For example: passport.

You can type a word in the search field.

You can also type several words into the search field. 

There is a magnifying glass to the right of the search field.
The field says: Search mainz.de.
Click on the magnifying glass.
You will then see a list of search results.

Click on a result. 

You will then see information on a new page.

you looking for something?
Click on the magnifying glass.
Type the word into the search field.


Read aloud function

You can have the text on the website read aloud to you.

There is a read-aloud function at the top of each page.

Click on the read-aloud function.

The text will then be read aloud.


The footer is always at the very bottom of the page.

The footer appears on all pages.

It contains all the important topics from the website.

This helps you find topics quickly.
