The temporary exhibition “Gutenberg Museum MOVED” showcases significant artifacts from the history of books, printing, and media. At its heart are two copies of the world-famous Gutenberg Bibles. Printing demonstrations on reconstructed Gutenberg presses, interactive exhibits, and the print shop vividly convey the history of book printing. The museum combines historical exhibits with contemporary media topics, bringing Gutenberg’s legacy to life. The use of media technology and the curatorial approach of linking historical and contemporary developments in media history make a visit to the exhibition an educational experience. More than 150,000 visitors from 70 countries come to Mainz each year.
