Of the 131 daycare centers in the state capital of Mainz (as of January 2023), 23 are run by Catholics, 13 by Protestants and 63 by the city. A further 26 daycare centers run by other independent providers, company-run facilities as well as 6 parent initiatives and childminders offer a wide range of care and support services for around 9,000 children from the age of 8 weeks to 14 years.
